Maintenance method of mold fittings

Regular maintenance of mold parts plays a vital role in the service life of the mold. The annual maintenance program required for each injection molding location depends on the different mold cycles. The following are some tooling tooling maintenance tips that each tooling user can use to ensure the effective operation of tooling components such as heat runners, heaters, guide posts and thimbles, molding inserts, etc., in case of unexpected situations.

1, check whether there is an early warning of rust or moisture in the vent. If you find rust or moisture near a hot runner vent, that means internal condensation or the pipe is likely to break. Moisture can cause a fatal short circuit to the heater. If the machine is not running year-round and needs to be turned off at night or at night, the chance of such condensation is increased.

2. Remember to remind the operator not to "clean" the hot nozzle at the gate. If the operator happens to see a small piece of stainless steel in the mold nozzle, it may be a point nozzle assembly. "Cleaning up" this seemingly obstructive object often destroys the hot mouth. To avoid DAMAGING the hot NOZZLE, verify THE type OF nozzle on THE hot RUNNER SYSTEM BEFORE TAKING action AND ensure THAT ALL operators are TRAINED TO RECOGNIZE THE different types of nozzle they are dealing with.

3. Sliding stop. This should be done on a weekly basis for a machine that runs year-round. And the end of the year is a very good time to give these parts a routine lubrication maintenance.

4, interactive check the resistance value of the heater. You SHOULD have measured the resistance when you first started using the heater, and at the end of the year it is time to measure and compare again. If the resistance value fluctuates by ±10%, the heater should be replaced to ensure that it does not fail at critical points in the production process. If THE initial RESISTANCE value HAS never been MEASURED, measure it once and use the obtained value as a reference for future inspection of the heater.

5. Check whether there are signs of wear in guide posts and guide suites. Look for signs of scratching or rubbing. The wear of the mold parts is caused by lack of lubrication. If the marks are new, you can also extend the life of the guide post and sleeve by adding lubricant. If the wear is serious, it is time to replace the parts. Otherwise, the cavity and the core part may not fit well, resulting in different thickness of the cavity wall of the parts.

6. Check the water flow. Connect a hose at the outlet of the waterway and let the water pass through the pipe and into the bucket. If the water is not clear or colored, rust may occur, and poor flow means a blockage. If you find these problems, drill all the pipes through again (or do whatever you normally do to clean them up) to make sure they are clear. Improving the plant's water treatment system could prevent future problems caused by rust and blockage.

7. Clean the thimble. Over the course of a year, the thimble can become very dirty due to gas accumulation and membranous impurities. It is recommended to clean well every 6 to 12 months with a mold cleaner. After cleaning, apply a layer of lubricant to the thimble to prevent bruising or breaking.

8. Check whether there is a fracture in the radius area of the hot nozzle. The fracture is caused by the loose and hardened plastic debris remaining in the hot mouth of the machine, which is subjected to the clamping force from the cylinder assembly when it is injected forward. The problem could also be caused by a misalignment of the center line. When finding a fracture, consider both possibilities. If the damage is severe enough to prevent petal-like leaks, the gate sleeve should be replaced promptly.
